Best of: Walmart. My Top Must-Haves for 2022!

This page may contain affiliate links, see full disclosure here. Let me just start off by saying I love me some Walmart!! I live about 0.6 miles from one! I am there at least 2-3 times a week! So when I thought of doing a “best of Walmart” post it was a no brainer. Here are my top 10 must-haves for the new year. I love that Walmart has really evolved over the last couple years. Before you just bought food and essentials. Now it’s a bit of a one stop shop. They have really upped their game in the clothing department. My Walmart even has the fun $1 section in the front like Target. None of these products have any rhyme or reason, they are just products that I have tried and love. So here we go… FERNSYes, the plant! I LOVE ferns! They are perfect all year long! Walmart has the best ferns hands down! They are huge and healthy. So with Spring approaching I highly recommend grabbing them as soon as they come out. For under $15 a piece you cannot go wrong. I have purchased ferns from Lowe’s in years past and I swear my plants […]

Sitting Room Makeover: My Mirror Wall Upgrade

This page may contain affiliate links, see full disclosure here. So a little back story on this room. I have lived in my house for almost 8 years and have tried numerous times to come up with a plan for my sitting room since day one. It’s technically the dining room, but I flip flopped the spaces because it made more sense to have a large dining room table for entertaining than a large sitting space no one would probably use. So hours, then days, then years turned into my Sitting Room Makeover: My Mirror Wall Upgrade! Shall we began… I initially wanted to tear down the mirror and maybe install wallpaper. However, I’ve spent thousands of dollars removing the old dated wallpaper in my kitchen and bathrooms so I was VERY hesitant to go down that path. Especially when you open up a wall do you ever really know what’s underneath/behind it all?!! So many, many years went by… Then one happy day my sister sends me a text! You will hear me reference her a lot. She sends me a ton of inspiration! My sister saw in a magazine how the oh so talented Shannon Claire transformed this […]

Harvest Fall Tablescape with Apples, Corn and White Pumpkins

This page may contain affiliate links, see full disclosure here. Hello my friends, I hope this week is treating you well. I have been trying to get in the fall spirit but these temps have been killing me! Most days I literally refuse to go outside. However, we did see a break and I was able to pull a bit of inspo and it came from my Ginger Apple Vodka Martini. I am not quite ready for the traditional fall leaves and pumpkins but I’m ready for something! And I keep going back to apples. I have never used them for decoration, only eatin’ and and in this case drinkin’! 😉 This pretty is where it all begun. This cocktail truly depicts falls. The color, the ingredients, and of course the taste! So I thought let me create a warm, welcoming Harvest Fall Tablescape with Apples, Corn and White Pumpkins. Many years back I was obsessed with corn husks for fall! I had it in my head to create this unbelievable, gorgeous corn husk wreath. Raise your hand if you think that ever happened?! Like my dream is to be crafty but it ain’t happening! Long story, dream wreath crushed […]

This page may contain affiliate links, see full disclosure here. Howdy my friends! Today I am sharing an affordable way to build an Easy DIY Blanket Ladder. I have wanted a blanket ladder for sometime now. But I just didn’t really want to spend the money and couldn’t find one that I really loved. So in usual manner I hit the research for the DIY route. My husband usually cringes when I say “DIY” – cause it always requires some help. He builds it, I make it pretty! Perfect partnership! 😉 I love that blanket ladders come in every design style – from farmhouse, metal, modern, even brass! And talk about versatile! You can use them strictly for decor but also work for actual blanket storage. I also seen them used in bathrooms. I am dying to make a smaller version for my kiddos bathroom. Maybe it will encourage them to actually pick up their towels off the floor. Ok so let’s get to it… HOW TO BUILD A BLANKET LADDER Alright, so by now you should have already found some inspo ladders. Pinterest is my best friend for inspiration. They’ve got it all! Next determine what size you want […]

Please note that I’ve linked to these products purely because I recommend them and they are from companies I trust. There is no additional cost to you. Howdy my friends! This post makes me very happy. After eight years of living in my current home I finally decided to give my master bedroom a makeover. And I am LOVING it! Feels so fresh and grown up. I don’t know why it took me this long! I had planned on “revamping” my bedroom a while back – nothing crazy, maybe some new bedding, shams, etc. But then I had this grand idea to move my treadmill out of my bedroom and upstairs to my office. Yes, my giant treadmill takes about 1/3 of the space in the room. However, I did not realize it weighed like a trillion pounds. It took four men to carry it up the stairs!! Thank you hubby and strong men in my neighborhood. Literally THE best decision ever! I know, I know what you are thinking…duh!! 😉 So now there is a large empty space just waiting to […]

My DIY Faux Real Ficus Tree

This project took a bit of time. Not because it was hard but because I had a hard time finding supplies. I originally wanted to do an olive tree. But I could not find branches to save my life. I had my heart set on these olive branches from Walmart but were sold out every time I went in and they are not available online. So I had to rethink my tree. In the meantime I had my hubs cut me down some large branches that I would use as the base of the tree. Originally I had planned on making two trees to flank my hutch in my sitting room. However, after getting the large branches into the room it seemed a bit much. So after scouring the internet for branches I stumbled upon a DIY ficus tree. It was by far the best one I had seen. Except her process was insane! There was NO way I was going to paint each leaf! I ended up going with some beautiful ficus branches from Michael’s. Really pretty color and size and they were $1.99 with I believe it was 20% off. Win win!! Now I finally have all my […]

Mother’s Day Tablescape: Using What You Have

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. We all have one, know one, or are one! So let’s make sure we make them feel extra special. One way is a beautiful table. You do not have to get all fancy and spend a ton of money. In fact, this version I created cost me nada! Not a penny! USE WHAT YOU HAVE! I see so many bloggers with these massive, and also stunning tablescapes that you know cost a fortune. Plus, where do you store it all?! I will say I have a “healthy” amount of inventory that I have collected over the years. Which is probably not the norm BUT I am here to show you how to create something beautiful and a sure way to make Mom feel special. I decided to create an outdoor tablescape. I know a lot of people are still dealing with Covid and social distancing so this makes the most sense. However, you can create the same look and feel indoors. So for this particular setting I used myself as the Mom! 😉 I decide to look around my yard and inside my home for inspiration. Recently, I freshened up my decor with […]

Simple and Cheap Home Projects

Got an itch for a new project? I feel like I do most of the time. And most of the time they require my husbands assistance. He’s a very patient and understanding man! 😉 Over the years these really simple and cheap home projects have become my favorites and have made one of the biggest impacts on my home. And when I say cheap, I mean CHEAP! HANGING BASKETS I am a sucker for baskets, whether they are displayed as wall art, hanging as lights or full of muffins! I love the natural color and texture. They go with every aesthetic and add a warm cozy vibe. A few years ago we redid our backyard and I got a “vision” of what I wanted. I became obsessed with hanging baskets. I searched and searched and searched for ideas and inspirations. Well thank you Pinterest for giving me lots of ideas! I mean, honestly what would we do without it?! So I was on a mission to find baskets. One lovely day I came across some bushel baskets on Facebook garage sale. They were legit 20 bucks. See I said cheap! I knew I wanted to paint them black and white. […]

Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on the Way! My Easter Table.

easter tablescape

We are just a few weeks away from celebrating Easter. I love this time of year. The sun is in full shine. Something about the change in season sparks a new excitement and “something to look forward to” in me! I love to add a touch of spring into my home. It doesn’t have to be this huge and expensive overhaul. I swap out pillow covers, flowers and vases. This year I found some great finds at Dollar Tree and Target dollar section. My favorite thing is decorating my table. I am a 100% ambiance person. I love to use candles, pretty glasses and flowers. Really set a mood for my guests. I love to come up with creative ways to incorporate name settings and tiny details that make a difference. We’ve been on a butterfly kick in my house. I am lover an collector of MacKenzie-Childs Butterfly Collection. Sadly it’s been discontinued. But I love to use it in my spring decorating. It’s so feminine and whimsical. I created some paper butterflies for my daughters room so I thought why not carry that into my table. I also added some fun black and white bunnies for a little contrast. […]
