Who is Home of the Roses? Meet my Inspiration.

I’ve been asked recently, what is Home of the Roses?! Well, it’s actually a who, not a what. Where did I get the name from? Do you live in a house full of roses?! Well kind of. 😉

I am a graphic designer, turned Mama, turned blogger! While I have only been blogging for about 6 months I created my blog in 2018. I no longer do graphic design…well professionally. I retired! 😉 So I knew I needed some type of creative outlet. I started with a few blog posts and opened all the social media accounts. But I just didn’t have the time to dedicate to it then. My daughter was still in preschool and I was working part time. Believe it or not it’s an insane amount of work and very time consuming.

In fall of 2020, my baby started kindergarten (insert loud obnoxious sobs). So I became a first time empty nester. As much as I enjoyed the “me” time I missed my bestie SO much. My daughter, Lillian and I are very close. We’ve been besties from birth. Her favorite holidays are Mother’s Day and Christmas. She is the kindest and most loving human being to me. God truly knew that I needed her.

Ok, so enough mush onto the Home of the Roses! My full name if Ivy Rose. I am second generation Rose. I was named after my Aunt Rose. She is my Mom’s sister. She is crazy talented. My Aunt Rose makes custom wreaths which are so unique and beautiful and is the ultimate gardener. Her backyard is one you would see in magazines. I have many childhood memories roaming her backyard oasis.

Although, my Aunt Rose does not live with me she is kinda where it all started. I gave birth to my tiny girl, Lillian Rose, of course, in 2013. She is now a third generation Rose. So when naming my blog I originally wanted House of Rose, like I was dead set. But it just didn’t fit anymore. We multiplied! 🙂 And honestly I love it even more.

MEET MY INSPIRATION
Lillian Rose is 6 years old. It’s hard for me to put into words how special she is to me. She is the only daughter I will ever have and I cherish that deeply. She is so beautiful inside and out. We have a lot of special things we do together. Obviously dressing alike. She LOVES art and to draw and color. We started this notebook of drawings that we surprise each other with. She draws and I close my eyes and vice versa. It ranges from everything of us, only us, riding unicorns or as ice creams or horses, lady bugs, you name it! I also have a binder of all the specials drawings and pictures she makes me. And what friendship would be complete without a best friend secret hands/hearts/swooshing!

Lillian is the ultimate foodie! Like sista cracks me up! I’m pretty sure she bleeds sugar. There’s always time for a snack! 😉 She loves to help me in the kitchen. Whether it’s cooking, baking, and cocktails. She creates her own version of a fancy drink. Makes my heart happy that she is so interested. Lillian has full reign on Sunday dinner tables settings. She gets so excited and I love to see what she comes up with. Always complete with candles, flowers, chargers, fancy stemware! She’s been watching Mommy carefully! 🙂

She is a true inspiration to me. Lillian lives in complete bliss. She was even rewarded the most “bubbly” in her class. I know she is only 6 years old but she lives in every single moment. Her excitement for life is so refreshing. It is such a great for reminder for me, she helps me take a step back and breath and relax and really enjoy my life. It is just proof it doesn’t matter how old or young you are, or if you are even trying you can still make sure a difference in someones life.

So that’s my story! We are Home of the Roses. I told her I was writing a story about her and that is was going to be in Mommy’s blog. She squealed and beamed in excitement. She is truly my biggest fan!

This “Good Vibes” dress is so fun! You can wear like we did here. We recently wore it as a cover to the water park. – big top bun with our sunnies! It would look adorable with some sneaks and a denim jacket for the fall! So many options.

I LOVE this “Floral Print Matching Vintage Midi Dresses“. The colors are so pretty. Perfect for summer, but would be gorgeous for fall family photos. Pull in the mustard and green. Would look great with a pair of brown booties, hat or even leather jacket. Again, so many options! We embraced barefoot summertime!
