Mother’s Day is right around the corner. We all have one, know one, or are one! So let’s make sure we make them feel extra special. One way is a beautiful table. You do not have to get all fancy and spend a ton of money. In fact, this version I created cost me nada! Not a penny! USE WHAT YOU HAVE!
I see so many bloggers with these massive, and also stunning tablescapes that you know cost a fortune. Plus, where do you store it all?! I will say I have a “healthy” amount of inventory that I have collected over the years. Which is probably not the norm BUT I am here to show you how to create something beautiful and a sure way to make Mom feel special.
I decided to create an outdoor tablescape. I know a lot of people are still dealing with Covid and social distancing so this makes the most sense. However, you can create the same look and feel indoors.
So for this particular setting I used myself as the Mom! 😉 I decide to look around my yard and inside my home for inspiration. Recently, I freshened up my decor with terracotta pots so I knew right away these would work well on my table. I’m an orange lover…in all shades! It’s all about the details that make it special.
I pulled some potted flowers from my yard that were also in a terracotta planter. Don’t be afraid to mix real and fake flowers or plants together. You can create the same feel at a fraction of the cost. Any chance I get I like to use my dinnerware from my Grandma. Another special detail. Adding gold touches are a must! I have a slew of it so I just picked some of my favorite items.
These beautiful glasses were freebies from my husbands work. They are originally beer glasses but I like to use them for anything. The gold rim is so pretty and makes them a little fancy. Not many people care if you are using the correct stemware. It’s more about creating a beautiful and cohesive experience.
HELPFUL TIP: Buy some already planted flowers or plants and use them as the centerpiece, then gift them to your Mom. Two birds, one stone! 😉
Another special touch is to write little notes to your Mom. I had these cute banner flags left over from my daughters first birthday photo shoot. Yes, she’s now 6! But I am now SO thankful I kept them for all these years! #hoarder
HELPFUL TIP: Don’t have “fancy” gold or sliver flatware sets?! I didn’t either so I went to Target! 🙂 They have several options to choose from. Another great place for party accessories is IKEA. They have an array of colors with matching napkins, place mats, etc. My go to is Hobby Lobby. They have all the party stuff!
I wish all you amazing Mamas an incredible (early) Mother’s Day! I hope you are cherished and feel loved and special.
