My Adult Halloween! Day of the Dead meets Candy Inspired Cocktails

This post originally started off with fun and spooky sweet treats for the kiddos. Then I realized they will get about 12 pounds of candy! Who needs a rice krispy treat with an eyeball on it?! So that is how this turned into My Adult Halloween! Day of the Dead Meets Candy Inspired Cocktails!

I had a really fun time with this one! I don’t really decorate much for Halloween. My kids beg me every year to do scary, but let’s face it. Never gonna happen! Halloween night is usually a pretty long night!! Too. Much. Sugar. And why do the kids have to have all the fun!? It got me thinking – I want to create a fun slightly spooky, definitely themed, night for us parents. We deserve it!

It always starts with one inspiration piece. In this case, it was a gift bag! Y’all this WHOLE table cost me less than $20!! Gotta love the Dollar Tree. I purposely used all plastic and paper ware. I mean who wants to clean at the end of the night. Keep what you want, throw the rest away!

I loved these Day of the Dead gift bags. So I just cut out the head and BAM adorable, I mean slightly spooky place setting! 😉 Then just found things to layer the table with. Regular plastic table clothes. Spider webs, anything shiny. Now I used my own silver chargers but then added white paper plates and these bright orange paper napkins. Jazzed them up with these fun spider rings! And how cute is this flatware?! Bought 2 packs – 2 bucks! Win, win!

Nothing screams Halloween like a dead tree limb! 😉 Clipped these from some dead bush in my neighborhood and added these fun skeleton garland, spiders, and bats. Sooooo creeepppy! And what adult Halloween would be complete without a festive cocktail?!

Let me introduce the Pixie Stick Orange Punch and the Day of the Dead Blackberry Martini. Both original Home of the Roses creations. Y’all know I love me a themed cocktail. These were so fun to create and make…and of course drink! 😉

And what I love about this punch you can make it without alcohol. I made my kids a big batch and they loved it! Now the Day of the Dead Blackberry Martini – adults only please! 🙂

This is always a fun holiday! Creativity is endless. For added spooky candles. I cleaned then painted black some beer bottles and added white candles. The longer they burned the more wax that spills down the side. Perfect for Halloween!

It’s never to early to start thinking ahead, head over and check out my Thanksgiving tablescape!

Hope you enjoyed my “spooky” table and fun cocktails. I hope you make them for yourself, and your family and friends.

Happy Halloween Planning!
XOXO, Ivy
