Howdy my friends! This post makes me very happy. After eight years of living in my current home I finally decided to give my master bedroom a makeover. And I am LOVING it! Feels so fresh and grown up. I don’t know why it took me this long!

I had planned on “revamping” my bedroom a while back – nothing crazy, maybe some new bedding, shams, etc. But then I had this grand idea to move my treadmill out of my bedroom and upstairs to my office. Yes, my giant treadmill takes about 1/3 of the space in the room. However, I did not realize it weighed like a trillion pounds. It took four men to carry it up the stairs!! Thank you hubby and strong men in my neighborhood.

Literally THE best decision ever! I know, I know what you are thinking…duh!! 😉 So now there is a large empty space just waiting to be filled. My envision, from day one, was to have a chaise lounge or sleeper type loveseat in that space. Welp 8 years later dreams do come true! This is one of my favorite little spots now in my house. Perfect spot for coffee and prayer time in the morning. Or when I need to escape my kids! I still need to add a couple things like a cozy throw and a martini end table…for my coffee. But for now it is working just fine.

The other major change was the wall color. I’ve always had very moody, dark colors. So going from this Storm Cloud blue to this creamy light gray was a big change. I used Useful Gray by Sherwin Williams. It’s a paint color that is in almost every room in my house. I just love it. It changes colors depending on the room decor and time of day. I never thought I’d be down for a light and airy master bedroom but I LOVE it! Every time I walk in, it just says hi I’m clean and fresh.

I kept with simple bedding. I am a sucker for white. I found this pretty coverlet set on Amazon. It’s so soft and I love the texture. I knew I wanted some pattern. It took me a minute to find the right one. In my head I was wanting a “toile floral” type pattern. I found this gorgeous charcoal gray floral pattern duvet set at IKEA. Goes perfect with the rug and pulls the blackish gray from the loveseat. Stays with the black and white theme without getting too matchy matchy. Then paired with these extremely soft linen Studio McGee pillows. I love the simple pattern and the green color is just right. My bed is oh so cozy and pretty! Just how it should be.

The rest of the decor I already had, I just swapped some of it out. I added some new artwork. It was time for my sepia color engagement pic to be retired. 😉 These black and white photos of my babies are my favorite! Their little chubby faces! Be still my heart. I absolutely love the quote “This Family is Set Apart for His Glory” I am having it made into art for the large black frame below. Which hopefully comes any day now! We still need to mount our TV, but need to work out some electrical. My favorite antique sconces make this little area complete!

Well thank you for virtually touring my master bedroom. I find it so incredible how just a few simple changes can dramatically change a space! I’d love to hear what home projects you are working on. Leave me a comment below.
