I ask and get asked often about devotionals. I love a good daily devotional and a powerful prayer book even more. If you know me well I talk A LOT about several of these books. I have used them for years – I mean prayer never goes out of style! For me I tend to get stuck with how and what I need to be praying for. These devotionals and books provide such a great foundation. You just integrate them with what you already pray for. THE POWER OF A PRAYING SERIES by Stormie Omartian I LOVE LOVE LOVE these books! There is The Power of a Praying Wife, The Power of a Praying Husband and The Power of a Praying Parent. I believe these all come in the book and prayer book option. The regular book offers a short story and then the prayer and several scriptures at the end. The prayer book is a very quick and short prayer with one scripture. My Advent Calendar: Gets the whole family together!

I’ve pondered what I would fill it with. Of course Jesus being the main focus but also I wanted it to fun and educational and something everyone looks forward to each day. So this is my Advent Calendar, it really gets the whole family together. My son was gifted The Jesus Storybook Bible by his Mimi. We love this Bible! It’s perfect for kids. So during my search I stumbled upon an Advent Guide that corresponds to The Jesus Storybook Bible. It gives step-by-step instructions. You simply download the PDF, print the pictures with the matching scripture and cut! Now you can still use the guide even if you don’t have the storybook. You can look at the beautifully done pictures and read the scriptures from your own Bible. I decided to kick it up a notch and add a “bonus” treat to a few of the days, every other to be exact.
