Easy DIY Blanket Ladder: Function & Beauty

This page may contain affiliate links, see full disclosure here. Howdy my friends! Today I am sharing an affordable way to build an Easy DIY Blanket Ladder. I have wanted a blanket ladder for sometime now. But I just didn’t really want to spend the money and couldn’t find one that I really loved. So in usual manner I hit the research for the DIY route. My husband usually cringes when I say “DIY” – cause it always requires some help. He builds it, I make it pretty! Perfect partnership! 😉 I love that blanket ladders come in every design style – from farmhouse, metal, modern, even brass! And talk about versatile! You can use them strictly for decor but also work for actual blanket storage. I also seen them used in bathrooms. I am dying to make a smaller version for my kiddos bathroom. My DIY Faux Real Ficus Tree

This project took a bit of time. Not because it was hard but because I had a hard time finding supplies. I originally wanted to do an olive tree. But I could not find branches to save my life. I had my heart set on these olive branches from Walmart but were sold out every time I went in and they are not available online. So I had to rethink my tree. In the meantime I had my hubs cut me down some large branches that I would use as the base of the tree. Originally I had planned on making two trees to flank my hutch in my sitting room. However, after getting the large branches into the room it seemed a bit much. So after scouring the internet for branches I stumbled upon a DIY ficus tree. It was by far the best one I had seen. Except her process was insane! There was NO way I was going to paint each leaf! I ended up going with some beautiful ficus branches from Michael’s. Really pretty color and size and they were $1.99 with I believe it was 20% off. Win win!! Now I finally have all my […]

Homemade Masks and Scrubs

GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT COCOA MASK

Is your skin in need of some serious self-care? I know mine does! After the holidays and especially with this colder weather. My skin sure takes a beating. OH HONEY! MASK I stumbled upon this first mask because I ran out of my usual exfoliator. I had seen some DIY scrubs on Pinterest before so I thought why not, I have all the ingredients. So I mixed up baking soda, honey and lemon juice and slathered it all over my face. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Hopped in the shower and began to rinse off. What I didn’t know about baking soda is that it has a bit of grit to it. I mean who knew?! Only have I used it to bake with! My skin felt SO soft. I was totally hooked! This has become part of my weekly routine and I have seen some really great results. I have even noticed my my dark spots have faded a bit. DIRECTIONS:1 teaspoon honey1 teaspoon lemon juice1-4 teaspoons baking soda (add more/less to get to desired paste consistency) Apply to dry skin. Let sit for 15 minutes. Wet both palms of hands. Place on face to moisten the […]
