I have lived in my house for almost 8 years and have tried numerous times to come up with a plan for my sitting room since day one. It’s technically the dining room, but I flip flopped the spaces because it made more sense to have a large dining room table for entertaining than a large sitting space no one would probably use. So hours, then days, then years turned into my Sitting Room Makeover: My Mirror Wall Upgrade! Shall we began… I initially wanted to tear down the mirror and maybe install wallpaper. However, I’ve spent thousands of dollars removing the old dated wallpaper in my kitchen and bathrooms so I was VERY hesitant to go down that path. Especially when you open up a wall do you ever really know what’s underneath/behind it all?!! So many, many years went by… Then one happy day my sister sends me a text! You will hear me reference her a lot. She sends me a ton of inspiration! My sister saw in a magazine how the oh so talented Shannon Claire transformed this […]

This post makes me very happy. After eight years of living in my current home I finally decided to give my master bedroom a makeover. And I am LOVING it! Feels so fresh and grown up. I don’t know why it took me this long! I had planned on “revamping” my bedroom a while back – nothing crazy, maybe some new bedding, shams, etc. But then I had this grand idea to move my treadmill out of my bedroom and upstairs to my office. Yes, my giant treadmill takes about 1/3 of the space in the room. However, I did not realize it weighed like a trillion pounds. It took four men to carry it up the stairs!! Thank you hubby and strong men in my neighborhood. Literally THE best decision ever! I know, I know what you are thinking…duh!! 😉 So now there is a large empty space just waiting to […]
The Butterfly Room Reveal
Some of my fondest memories are of my Mom and me decorating my room. So this collaboration is like a dream come true for me. Usually I come up with an idea and design and the kids just kind of agree and roll with it. However, my beautiful daughter is now a big girl with lots of opinions and great ideas. This room makeover was so fun and turned out so good. Every time I walk into Lillian’s room it looks and feels just like her. It started with her dresser breaking. This was the first dresser we bought after we got married. So that baby has been around for a minute. It has survived countless moves and it just couldn’t make it another day! We went back and forth whether to just replace the dresser or just give her room an upgrade. After some fun brainstorming the butterfly vision came about and it was a no brainer. So now the fun begins… I immediately started researching. I love the process of design! It starts with one item, one “inspiration” piece and then takes off. The finished product is so rewarding. Seeing my daughters face light up with excitement and […]
Powder Bath Reveal: Bye Bye Brown Cave
So I am so excited about this bathroom reveal. It has been one of the most dramatic changes we’ve made in our home. We have been in our home a little over four years. So this makeover has been long coming. When I say the bathroom was dark. I literally mean dark brown…like the whole thing! Not sure what they were going for. Darkness?! Scary?! I don’t think this is what people mean by Monochromatic. We painted the bathroom days after moving in. Not cause I already had this great vision but just so we could see!! We pretty much removed everything from the toilet, vanity, shower walls, floors, and fixtures. Had the pleasure of working with an amazing team from Ribo Home Remodeling. I’ve been told I am very “particular” (not sure I can argue…hehe!) so these guys had their hands full and did a stand up job! My vision for this bathroom came from this stunning cement tile from Cement Tile Shop. It’s a soft gray and off while tile. SO PRETTY!! It’s a small space and the bathroom that all my guests use so I wanted something special for the floors. We painted the walls a soft […]
