So this first recipe is inspired by the oh so amazing Joanna Gaines. I saw it on her new cooking show. Her Granddad’s famous dish. A yummy Lebanese Fatayar. Well my version is not Lebanese but maybe a little Texan! I shall you Meat N’ Tater Pie 😉 These savory little ground beef and hash brown biscuit pies were a huge hit with my family. With crazy simple ingredients I thought they might be dry but not at all. And don’t let the word “Fatayar” scare you! Literally means meat pie! I went the simple route and used canned grocery biscuits like Jo suggests. All you have to do is flour them and roll them out and you are good to go. But you can also make your own dough if you prefer. Now I folded mine a little different. I went with the empanada style. Folding in half then crimping the edges with a fork. I love that both these recipes have similar ingredients yet taste completely different. So helpful when creating your shopping list. Also being versatile, you can swap out ground beef for ground turkey or the sour cream for Greek yogurt. Really customize to what works […]
How a Five Minute Procedure Changed My Life – My Endometrial Ablation.
I rarely ever, actually this is my first time to share a personally story. With it being March, which is a very personally month for me. My first child, my son was born. My oldest sister and her beautiful daughter both have birthdays in March and I also met my husband – our St. Patty’s Day romance. Will have to share another time! 😉 So I am taking this moment to share something personal with you and how a five minute procedure changed my life! My endometrial ablation story. I started my period when I was 12 years old. I was in sixth grade and I remember the morning vividly. We were about to leave for school and I yelled out to my Mom “I think I just started my period” and in that moment my life was forever changed. Right from the beginning I suffered every month. To the point it was debilitating some days. Luckily my very gracious Mother understood and would let me skip school if need be. Needless to say it effected my life in every way. Once I got older I did get on the birth control pill. Which did help tremendously. It helped shorten […]
Hippity Hoppity Easter’s on the Way! My Easter Table.
We are just a few weeks away from celebrating Easter. I love this time of year. The sun is in full shine. Something about the change in season sparks a new excitement and “something to look forward to” in me! I love to add a touch of spring into my home. It doesn’t have to be this huge and expensive overhaul. I swap out pillow covers, flowers and vases. This year I found some great finds at Dollar Tree and Target dollar section. My favorite thing is decorating my table. I am a 100% ambiance person. I love to use candles, pretty glasses and flowers. Really set a mood for my guests. I love to come up with creative ways to incorporate name settings and tiny details that make a difference. We’ve been on a butterfly kick in my house. I am lover an collector of MacKenzie-Childs Butterfly Collection. Sadly it’s been discontinued. But I love to use it in my spring decorating. It’s so feminine and whimsical. I created some paper butterflies for my daughters room so I thought why not carry that into my table. I also added some fun black and white bunnies for a little contrast. […]
The Butterfly Room Reveal
Some of my fondest memories are of my Mom and me decorating my room. So this collaboration is like a dream come true for me. Usually I come up with an idea and design and the kids just kind of agree and roll with it. However, my beautiful daughter is now a big girl with lots of opinions and great ideas. This room makeover was so fun and turned out so good. Every time I walk into Lillian’s room it looks and feels just like her. It started with her dresser breaking. This was the first dresser we bought after we got married. So that baby has been around for a minute. It has survived countless moves and it just couldn’t make it another day! We went back and forth whether to just replace the dresser or just give her room an upgrade. After some fun brainstorming the butterfly vision came about and it was a no brainer. So now the fun begins… I immediately started researching. I love the process of design! It starts with one item, one “inspiration” piece and then takes off. The finished product is so rewarding. Seeing my daughters face light up with excitement and […]
Daily Devotionals and Prayer Books
I ask and get asked often about devotionals. I love a good daily devotional and a powerful prayer book even more. If you know me well I talk A LOT about several of these books. I have used them for years – I mean prayer never goes out of style! For me I tend to get stuck with how and what I need to be praying for. These devotionals and books provide such a great foundation. You just integrate them with what you already pray for. THE POWER OF A PRAYING SERIES by Stormie Omartian I LOVE LOVE LOVE these books! There is The Power of a Praying Wife, The Power of a Praying Husband and The Power of a Praying Parent. I believe these all come in the book and prayer book option. The regular book offers a short story and then the prayer and several scriptures at the end. The prayer book is a very quick and short prayer with one scripture. They are both great, however I prefer the regular book. It’s just more in depth and gives you a ton more scripture. ARISE MY DARLING by Julie King My Mom passed this one on to me. […]

Decadent Chocolate – 2 Ways!
I don’t think there are many people on this planet that don’t have a sweet tooth for chocolate. I mean what’s not to love! It can be melted, covered in nuts, pie, cake, the possibilities are endless! So let me tell you about two of my favorite ways to indulge in chocolate…just in time for Valentine’s Day! Chocolate Cream Pie with Oreo Crust I first made this for Christmas dinner. My husband requested chocolate pie. I know he was dreaming of his mother’s famous chocolate pie – however this gal has yet to master her beyond delicious recipe. So I scoured the world wide web aka Pinterest for some inspiration. I found a few recipes that sounded yum and then created my own. Saw a few with an Oreo cookie crust and I knew that’s the route I wanted to go. The way it looks is so pretty and better yet how it tastes by adding an extra layer of chocolate flavor. Now lets talk about the filling. This is a cream cheese base with cocoa powder, whipped cream and powdered sugar. HOLY MOLY is it decadent! I believe that’s the word my mother used to describe it. Hands down […]
Homemade Masks and Scrubs
Is your skin in need of some serious self-care? I know mine does! After the holidays and especially with this colder weather. My skin sure takes a beating. OH HONEY! MASK I stumbled upon this first mask because I ran out of my usual exfoliator. I had seen some DIY scrubs on Pinterest before so I thought why not, I have all the ingredients. So I mixed up baking soda, honey and lemon juice and slathered it all over my face. Let it sit for about 15 minutes. Hopped in the shower and began to rinse off. What I didn’t know about baking soda is that it has a bit of grit to it. I mean who knew?! Only have I used it to bake with! My skin felt SO soft. I was totally hooked! This has become part of my weekly routine and I have seen some really great results. I have even noticed my my dark spots have faded a bit. DIRECTIONS:1 teaspoon honey1 teaspoon lemon juice1-4 teaspoons baking soda (add more/less to get to desired paste consistency) Apply to dry skin. Let sit for 15 minutes. Wet both palms of hands. Place on face to moisten the […]
Your Favorite Cocktails Jazzed Up!
These are all cocktails we know and love we just added a little something extra that I know you will enjoy! These delicious concoctions were created in lieu of Texas/OU weekend last year but we have made them many times after. We take our food and drink very serious here in North Texas and these have proved to be crowd favorites. My husband works for a beverage distributor he always brings home all types of samples. The latest was a pickled vodka! I know what you are thinking. As I was too! But it’s SO good! Which leads us to our first “jazzed” up cocktail… The Pickled Bloody Mary. This traditional savory cocktail just got infused with Rocking M Ranch Distillery Pickle Vodka. It adds such a yummy extra layer of flavor. Mix in all your traditional favorites like tomato juice, celery, pickles and bacon! You name it! Skies the limit on this drink. We love this drink because it’s packed with flavor and you can enjoy as brunch, lunch or football party crowd pleaser. The Ginger Apple Vodka Martini. I am OBSESSED with this next drink! I am not a big liquor drinker BUT this Frankly Organic Apple Vodka […]
Pumpkin Spice Bread with hints of cinnamon and ginger!
Well it’s almost fall y’all! And in celebration of it being September I am sharing my favorite Pumpkin Spice Bread with hints of cinnamon and ginger. It will give you all the fall feels. My family goes crazy for it. This recipes make two loaves. So we enjoy one and I freeze the other one. Tastes just as good when thawed. I like to have a little piece in the morning with my coffee. My taste inspiration for this pumpkin spice bread recipe is the famous slice from Starbucks. You all know the one. This recipe comes pretty darn close! So here’s what you do! In a large bowl, combine the sugar, oil and eggs. Add pumpkin and mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, pumpkin spice, ginger, baking soda and vanilla. Slowly add your water – beating well after each addition. Remember this recipe makes two loaves. I like to use a traditional loaf pan and also a bundt cake pan. This requires separate cook times. But you do not have to use different pans. Then pour mixture evenly into greased pans. Bake loaf pan at 350° for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. If […]
